The tread blocks feature multiple traction edges and sipes and are molded to accept optional metallic studs to increase wintry weather traction. The Grabber AT2 features a chip-and tear-resistant tread compound molded into an aggressive, symmetric self-cleaning tread design featuring five rows of independent tread blocks to blend on-road handling with off-road traction according to General. With the substantial savings and a much better rating, the General Grabber AT2 became my new set of tires. Since price was a factor, I compared the Grabber AT2 to a comparable sized All-Terrain, and the AT2 was approximately $50.00 cheaper per tire. Since Continental was and remains one of the largest European tire companies, the acquisition provided a strong, sound presence in the world’s tire market, and today the company operates under the name Continental Tire North America. In 1987, Continental AG of Hannover, West Germany, expressed an interest in General Tire and ultimately purchased the company. Excellent in the snow, resistant to punctures on the rocks. They’re quiet on the highway for being an aggressive A/T tire yet they dig through mud like a M/T. Tires are awesome in every condition and I really don’t have any faults to it. Loved them but was afraid they would also give up a lot like the others did relatively quick.
